Production History

Richard Sharp's DRACULA was first produced in Longmont, Colorado by a small semi-professional group. From there it went to its first full professional production in the resort town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Two years later it was produced by the Oregon Shakespearean Festival, the first major production. Here it was a part of both the '83 and '84 seasons. Then in 1985 a commercial production was mounted in San Francisco by Charles Dugan, et al., starring John Astin.

Since that time it has been produced continually by professional companies including Tacoma Actors Guild, the Great American Melodrama in Oceano, CA, Hunger Artists of Denver, CO, PCPA Theatrefest, Santa Maria, CA, Harlequin Productions of Olympia, WA, Hilbarn Theatre of Foster City, CA and Imagination Theatre of Placerville, CA as well as by Universities including Denver, U; Towson State U, Baltimore, MD; U of Alaska, Anchorage; U of Colorado, Boulder. In addition it has been produced many times by small colleges, community theaters and high schools.
